Okay so Democracy Day has come and passed and we the editorial team at Diet234 would like to congratulate Mr. President – Muhammadu Buhari and his vice president – Mr. Yemi Osinbajo on taking up the mantle of leadership in a bid to aid the Nigerian populace actualize national goals on security of lives and property, sustainable development among others. Ultimately, we thank Almighty God for a peaceful transition of power in the just concluded Democracy Day activity.

In the spirit of the national leadership agenda and happenings, our CEO & Founder – Collins Akanno had honored an invitation to speak on Democracy Day – May 29th 2015, at a youth summit hosted by the Christian Youth Crusaders Fellowship of his metropolitan church – St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, Aguda. Surulere in Lagos State. The event was tagged “Stepping Out”, themed on positive thinking and self discovery for the youth population.
He spoke with so much passion citing a few necessary actions from his personal life experiences. Especially as a medical student, turned clinical nutritionist, turned entrepreneur. There was an electrifying response from the crowd at the event as they listened to the “not-so-sweet” sides of taking drastic CHANGE decisions on the path to success. In preparing this post, I particularly noted this down when he said
“…and then I realized I had to leave my first love – Medicine, in order to forge my entrepreneurial dreams… I often consoled myself that a river doesn’t cut through rocks because of its pressure but because of its persistence”
I must confess I was very touched by this…

One thing I held on to was,
“In your attempt to discover yourself, you must actively be passionate about serving others – Give yourself, your essence! In doing this, you find your purpose, and when you find your purpose, life makes more sense and then God blesses you with a purpose-fulfilled life!”
He went further on to quote Pablo Picasso, “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away”.
He ended the talk by calling up our head of operations – Kingsley Oti to the podium to say a word or two as regards the company’s future plans.

At the event also to speak was renowned music producer – Oloruntosin Kinyomi, popularly known as teekaywitty. This hands-on contemporary music producer is the gifted brain behind some of the great sounds of today. He’s truly “a magician in the studio” He has done some great music with the likes of Davido, Tiwa Savage and more. He spoke right after Mr. Collins Akanno, also citing from his personal life experiences what it takes to go an extra mile even after stepping out to actualize dreams.

It was a really enlightening and yet fun time with these entrepreneurial minds. See more pictures on our social handles at Facebook and Instagram. Happy New Month to you!
