About weight loss myths…

You have to eat breakfast

False. Eating breakfast has nothing to do with losing weight. However, skipping meals does in a sense that if you skip meals, you’re more likely to be hungry later on in the day. You can’t expect to eat breakfast and then assume you just lose weight by skipping lunch. And, you won’t lose weight by skipping breakfast and eating lunch. It honestly doesn’t matter what period of time you eat as long as it’s not midnight. But if you skip breakfast then you will most likely feel more hungry. Is this is a myth? Yes, because it has nothing to do with the time of day. The advice should have been “don’t skip meals, you’ll just get more hungry later on”. It’s more important to eat healthy food and consume fewer calories overall instead of trying to skip meals.

You have to spend a lot of money to lose weight

Nonsense. Eating healthily is no more expensive than eating junk food and fast food. You could cook up a delicious healthy meal at the same time it takes for you to order a pizza and have it arrive at your door. All it takes is a little willpower and a bit of studying on how to cook. In addition, people think that you have to buy expensive supplements and workout equipment to get the best help losing weight. Websites like www.fitnessmusthaves.com show you that you don’t have to spend a fortune to get any supplements or workout gear. You can burn fat on a budget or with no budget at all.

Fad diets work

Let’s get this straight: a diet is not temporary! Diets should be long-term changes to your eating habits, not short-term. Don’t expect to eat a salad instead of a burger for a week and see significant weight loss. Not only will you crave burgers after awhile and then binge on it, you’re not going to be able to sustain it because you simply don’t like it. When we think about diets, we need to consider the reality: it has to be sustainable. If you don’t like salad, then don’t eat it. If you like burgers, then eat them but cut down on the amount you eat and the frequency at which you eat it.
